It's officially OBLIVION time!
Posted on 7 August 2008 | 3:04 pm
Alright everyone, its the biggest time in the Pay Per View cycle of the NAFW. It's time for our "Wrestlemania." It's time for OBLIVION!

Though the turn out on the Feedback for Annihilation #25 wasn't as good as I would have liked, some people who don't regularly comment on the shows left feedback, so I've decided to post the card for OBLIVION. Anyone is still more than welcome to post feedback for Annihilation #25 or give it your "Nielsen rating" in the same thread.

If you click the Next Card thread, you'll see the matches for OBLIVION as well as the deadlines for roleplays, segments, and matches. Things are quite simple. You have one week to roleplay, one week to write your segments, and one week to write your match. That should be MORE than enough time to accommodate everyone's various schedules and is definitely reasonable in my opinion.

There will be no segments accepted after the segment deadline because I don't want half assed matches on our biggest PPV event. If you miss writing your segments for whatever reason, tough luck, just move on and focus on your match. Because this is a big card and because no one knows whats supposed to happen in these big feud matches better than the people involved in the feuds themselves, everyone involved in a match will be responsible for helping to write it initially. There is just too much going on to ask other people to try and step in and write a full length PPV match on top of everything else they'll have to do for their own match. If, however, absolutely no one involved with your match can write it by the deadline, and someone is available and willing to take and complete your match, then that's fine, but don't bank on that happening.

You basically have three weeks to write your match. No match assignments will be given out, so don't wait for one to start writing your match. I highly suggest starting a "Strategy" thread in your Feud forum to discuss spots for the match and other details with your feud partner. This info could then be passed on to someone else if an outside party must write your match. Also, please make sure you have a PPV length entrance readily available for your match. Details about what the match should look like are available in the Match-O-Matic forum. Start writing the match early and you can complete it in small pieces. If you're going to bail on your match, it is essential you make a post in the OBLIVION thread in the Match-O-Matic forum so everyone can be aware and volunteer to pitch in if necessary.

In general, don't wait until deadlines are approaching to start writing your stuff. If you finish both your roleplays by this Sunday, start working on your segments! If you finish your segments by next Friday, get going on your match! Then you can be done, kick back, and not have to worry about things because you did your part to make OBLIVION work.

This PPV could very well make or break this place, so how about we all pull together and everyone does their part to make this a success?! Sounds good to me.

Good luck everyone.

#1 - Annihilation #24 featuring the premiere of Mike Lane's movie "The Defense" has been posted. So much different stuff happens on this show it isn't even funny. So give it a good read and get caught back up to date on whats going on in the NAFW.

#2 - Feedback! After you read Annihilation #24, please feel free to leave some feedback in the Fan Forum. The thread has been set up listing the credits for the show, however you don't have to comment on every single segment. Just some kind of meaningful feedback would be nice. And for the first time ever, you can rate Annihilation like the Nielsen ratings! Read the Feedback thread in the Fan Forum for more on this!

#3 - The card for Annihilation #25 has been posted. It's our last show before OBLIVION, so lets try to make it a good one. Namely - follow the deadlines. Please.

#4 - To help with Annihilation #25, matches have been posted in the Match-O-Matic forum that people can sign up to take. Remember, these are just short matches/summaries.

I think that about covers everything major for now. Thanks for sticking with us.

Okey-dokey, we received a decent amount of feedback from non-feedback-regulars (as well as from our feedback-regulars). That wasn't so bad, or hard, now was it?

So as promised, here is the card for Annihilation #24, from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California, featuring the sneak peek exclusive Versus premier of Mike Lane's new Hollywood blockbuster film: "The Defense"

On Annihilation #23, David Kurresh joined The Judge as our next inductee into the NAFW Hall of Fame. On Annihilation #24, we will learn what NAFW superstar will get the Call to the Hall next!

Please note the deadlines and follow them. Otherwise, what's the point of all of this? Let's get on track and have a timely show as we head for Oblivion!
