About

The North American Foundation of Wrestling started as a "real wrestler" e-fed in the summer of 2000. Known then as simply Fantasy Wrestling, or FW, it quickly grew to be one of EZBoard’s most popular and successful e-feds. After September 23, 2000, Fantasy Wrestling was renamed New Age Fantasy Wrestling, and the e-fed continued to serve as a roleplay battleground for handlers of real and original characters. In order to establish itself as a more realistic sounding e-fed, the acronym NAFW was changed to mean the North Atlantic Foundation of Wrestling. Claiming roots in New York City, the NAFW continued to go unmatched in excellence as the premiere EZBoard e-fed. Over time, the quality of roleplays exponentially increased. With this better quality of writing, real life wrestlers were also taken out of the mix in favor of developing original creations. By the end of 2003, the remaining real wrestlers were gone, as sign-ups to roleplay as a real wrestler had been ended quite some time earlier. A fiercely competitive roleplay environment was in place, demanding excellence week after week after week. The NAFW became the bar of quality for all other e-feds on the internet.

The trash talking was some of the best on the web, but as time progressed, handlers became more interested in developing their characters and the stories surrounding them. While this increased the writing quality of the roleplays, it also led the NAFW down a new avenue: angling. The NAFW never became a full angle fed, but quite often, handlers collaborated to angle their feuds and match results. The administration encouraged handlers to work with each other and facilitate their own character development and feud plans. Towards the end of the NAFW’s first run, it had taken on the aura of a hybrid roleplay/angle fed, even if in the end the results were still determined by who out-roleplayed who. The NAFW closed its doors on EZBoard (now Yuku) for the first time in April 2006

In August 2006, the NAFW was relaunched at TheNAFW.Com and was renamed the North American Foundation of Wrestling. This rebirth meant that the NAFW was officially a Hybrid Roleplay / Angle e-fed. Unfortunately, due to a variety of complications and delays, the NAFW halted operations again in September 2008 after a two year run.

Today, the NAFW lives on through unofficial canon like "The NAFW 2k9" series and other writing projects.
