In order to keep the show consistent throughout, NAFW uses a simple format that handlers should adhere to when submitting segments and matches. Much of this also applies to Entrances.
Please take note that a handler's RPs are completely their own, and they can use whichever format they personally prefer. This format is for things that are to be part of a show, primarily segments and matches.
General
Very Important: Make sure all of your HTML tags are closed properly. When submitting on the message board, use the HTML Testing Forum to be sure that a segment/entrance/match looks right, and has all tags closed correctly.
For consistency and simplicity reasons, please do not use HTML tables in segments or matches.
After the accuracy of the HTML in the segment or match has been checked, please be sure to go back and either Disable HTML in your post, or use the BBCode [code] [/code] around the segment or match. This turns off the HTML function, which then allows the administrators to more easily copy and paste the segments and matches in their HTML code forms when it comes time to compile the show. If your coding is not correct and you us the BBCode [code] function, it will delete portions of your HTML coding so please double check that as well.
Description
The description should be color "#999999", meaning the full tag is:
<font color="#999999">Description</font>
The description shouldn't be in italics and/or bold. A few words, modified to make them stand out is fine, but the majority of the description should be without bold and italics.
Tense
Segments, matches, and by extension, the show, should be written as if it's happening as it's being read.
For example, something like: "He walked down the hallway, until he saw his opponent. The pair stared at each other for a moment, until security arrived and broke them up" should be: "He walks down the hallway, until he sees his opponent. The pair stare at each other for a moment, until security arrives and breaks them up."
Obviously there are certain instances, in the right context, where describing events in a slightly different tense makes sense. But in general, the above example applies.
Speech
The beginning of any paragraph of a character's speech should be that character's name (call this the "identifier" ).
If a color is normally associated with a character, feel free to use it, but please have the color start after the identifier. For example:
(Wrestler Name) <font color = "#C06060">This is the stuff that "Wrestler" is saying.</font>
Aside from Hector Gonzales and Commissioner Ray Buchanan, Staff Characters have NO colors associated with them. So for example, handlers should not be using a color for Rick Priestly or John Mills. (For reference, Hector's color is "#FFFFCC" and Buchanan's is "#9999FF")
When using an interviewer, handlers should use the interviewer's first name in the indentifier, not their last. However, this varies with non-interviewer staff characters. So for example, use (John) rather than (Mills), but (Buchanan) is acceptable.
Titles
Segments must also include titles. Segments that are timed around the beginning or the end of a match (such as a post-match beat down or a post-match speech) do not necessarily require titles.
Segment titles appear at the very beginning of segments, and the HTML for segment titles is as follows:
<center><hr width = "50%"><b>Title</b><hr width = "50%"></center>
Timing
If there is a specific spot in the show in mind for the segment to appear during, please specify it somewhere in the thread before the HTML of that segment.
Examples: Before or after a certain match, before or after another specific segment, or somewhere in the beginning, middle, or end of the show.
