Basic Information
A match strategy, or strat, is a plan of action to help the writing staff and administration. In conjunction with fantasy wrestling, a strat is a form prepared to notify those in authority what a handler's wrestler/team wants to accomplish in his/her/their particular contest.
Strats are not a requirement, but are strongly encouraged. They not only help to define a party's plan of action, refine the character(s) and their styles, and allow the actual handler to get involved in the administrative process, but relieve much of the stress on our writing staff (which is useful if we like good matches).
While not mandatory, strats will reflect positively on you and your dependant(s) when booking and results decisions are mulled around the Think Tank, but are not the final, deciding factor on victory or defeat.
Once this form is completed, please make it available to the administration by posting the completed frame in your Personal Handler Forum. They will, in turn, pass the information on to the member of the writing staff dedicated to your match-up.
How Do I Do A Strat?
Simply fill out whichever sections of the blank Strat form that follows. The key to strat writing is to be creative. A short strat is always better than no strat.
Blank Strat
Entrance:
If you don't want the writer to use the Entrance you've posted in the Entrances Forum for a given match, give the full Entrance here. No riding out on a Caddy with Fred Durst on your hood.
Strategy:
This is how your wrestler will act, his mindset, his plan of attack/defense, etc.
Spots:
Here is where you write what MAJOR moves you would like to see in the match. You also write bumps, hardcore spots in the back, or missed/reversed moves here.
Finish:
This is where you tell us how you'd like the match to end, if your wrestler is set to win. Examples include: a finisher, a disqualification or a cheating victory. If you WANT your wrestler to lose, for storyline purposes, this is where you say so, but be advised works aren't always deemed useful for storyline advancement.
Other:
Anything else you want to add, from pre/post-match speeches, environmental concerns (you want tables strewn about ringside), to general ideas. Commentary suggestions also welcome, as are history run-downs between participants (as you'd know better than the writer).
